Leaf and Yard Waste Disposal Procedures
We would appreciate everyone's help following the proper protocols for leaf and yard waste disposal. Please see the directions and pick up timelines below.
Yard waste is collected on regular collection days beginning the week of April 1st and continuing through the week of December 15th.
Yard waste is: grass clippings, LEAVES, very small twigs, potting soil, garden fruits and vegetables, and old flowers. Yard waste can no longer be placed in plastic bags and CANNOT be blown to to the curbs or into streets.
Here’s what you should do:
Separate yard waste from regular trash by about 10 ft.
Mark the yard waste containers with "Yard Waste" stickers. The stickers are available at City Hall or the DPW.
Cut branches into 3 ft. lengths and tie them into bundles that weigh no more than 50 lbs. each.
Republic Services®, brings you quick and easy ways to make a difference in your community. Follow these simple guidelines to become a better recycler.
Wayne DPW is winterizing fire hydrants. Occasionally, this causes discoloration of the water which is temporary.
If you have any questions regarding this, please call DPW at 734-721-8600 between the hours of 7:00 A. M. and 1:00 P. M. Mon-Fri
