Administrative Assistant -Benefits (Part Time) 

 

 

Starting Pay Rate:$12.098 /Hour (28 hours per week / 9:30 am - 4:30 pm / Mon - Thurs)

 

Responsibilities:Assist with coordinating the benefit package including but not limited to, health, dental and vision and retirement programs. Inform and advise employees informed of any changes to benefit structure.  Resolve employee issues with insurance providers and other benefit administrators. Administer Cobra and FMLA per regulations.  Review and reconcile payroll deductions bi-weekly. Maintain benefit summaries, per labor contracts. The individual must have the ability to work effectively with other employees and departments on matters that are highly confidential. Provide ongoing support for the Personnel Director and City Manager.  

 

 

Qualifications:High School Education or GED, phone skills, computer skills, high working knowledge in word and excel software.  Must have at least 3 years of experience in coordinating benefits.  Applicant must be detail oriented, possess good organizational skills, be able to work independently.

Full-Time Clerk - 29th District Court


Starting Pay Rate:         $29,681 per year (37.5 hours per week - days 8am-4:30pm, union position)

Responsibilities:          Must have the ability to work effectively with other employees and the general public. Handle matters that may be of a highly confidential nature.  Perform a variety of complex clerical tasks such as: cashiering, handling counter, updating case management system with scheduling and/or disposition information, answering telephones and other court matters as assigned.

Qualifications:         High School Education or GED.  Job requires one year computer and general office experience, preferably in a court setting.

MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS NEEDED!

 

The City of Wayne seeks to hire 2 individuals immediately for their Homebound Senior Meal Delivery Program. Meals on Wheels is a Wayne County Program Housed within the City of Wayne that offers meal Delivery to homebound Seniors Monday – Friday to individuals ages 60 and above.

Drivers would be needed approximately 9 to 10 hours a week to deliver meals to seniors within the City. The rate of pay is $9.45 per hour. A vehicle will be provided by the City of Wayne.

    FIREFIGHTERS

 

The City of Wayne is currently accepting applications for the purpose of establishing a Fire Fighter eligibility list.  Applicants must be a citizen of the United States (Birth Certificate or Naturalization Papers required at time of application). High school diploma or GED (presented with application);. Minimum qualifications include State of Michigan Advanced Life Support/Paramedic license within a year of hire, and successful completion of Fire Fighter I and II Firemanship Courses and  Conference of Western Wayne (CWW) Written and Physical Agility Testing. Proof of all the above must be submitted with application.  Possession of current, valid Michigan driver's license and an excellent driving record with no more than three (3) points on current driving record.

POLICE OFFICER


The City of Wayne is accepting applications for Police Officer. Applicants must conform to employment standards as set by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (M.C.O.L.E.S.).

Qualifications include at a minimum:

a.    Associates Degree in related field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of education.
b.    Must be a U.S. citizen, 21 years or older at time of employment.
c.    MCOLES certified/certifiable as a police officer, or currently enrolled in an MCOLES approved police academy.
d.    Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving history.
e.    No felony convictions and/or disqualifying criminal history.
f.    Ability to successfully pass background investigation, psychological evaluation, interview process and drug/alcohol screen.

WAYNE POLICE DEPARTMENT
POLICE SERVICE AIDE PROGRAM

 
Starting Pay Rate: $12.00/Hr (Part Time/Up to 28 hours per week)

 Qualifications:

  1. File a properly completed application, which is acceptable to the City of Wayne, and provide satisfactory responses to requests for additional information,
  2. Citizen of the United States.
  3. Be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  4. Possess a high school diploma or a valid equivalency certificate.
  5. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  6. Have no more than two (2) hazardous traffic violations in the preceding five years, or a total of no more than four (4) points on or after the date of application. The accident history, regardless of fault, will be considered in the appraisal of the applicant’s overall driving skills and, therefore, eligibility.
  7. Have no prior felony convictions.
  8. Any misdemeanor charges and convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine eligibility of the applicant.
  9. Pass a drug test, checking for the presence of illicit controlled substances.
  10. Pass the department’s Oral Review Board.
  11. Pass the department background investigation.
  12. Pass a fingerprint check.
  13. An interview with the Police Chief or his designee will be conducted, the results of which will be considered in the applicant’s overall suitability for employment.
